TIME ETUDES - from VULNUS
Time etudes is a cycle for one performer playing two recorders and singing a third line.
Irene Sorozabal Moreno's unique talent for such coordination virtuosity inspired Sztojanov to use limited 3 notes motive from John Dowland's 'Time stands still' - on each flute in a different key.
Different instruments have different tunings, the combination defines an interval.
Thus the etudes is a series, with one etude for each interval possible.

Dear if you change - or I'll never go in circles

The piece is based on 3 recurrent 'phases', the passionate, rational, and emotional, repeating and changing, but still remaining the same in their core.

Ensembles

The deeper you are, the more they want (2010)
In 2010 he worked with Asko|Schönberg in
their young composers' project, 9x7
One month before the final deadline we had a workshop, where some of the performers expressed how much they miss expression indications from modern scores (lugubre, amabile etc.)
That gave him the idea to put a free association in the score above each phrase of each player.
It helped the performers get immediately to the musical world the composer imagined.
The deeper you are, the more they want
NO WAY (2007)
In 2007 we had the chance to write a short piece with the dutch brass ensemble
'de ereprijs'. Concert from Budapest.
NO WAY - 'de ereprijs'
